A number of years ago, after I had broken free of my sex addiction, I did not know there were groups or ministries who were able to help me move into healing. The only thing I knew to do was to gather a bunch of men around me, who I knew were struggling with the same brokenness as I, and walk out the journey to sexual integrity together. During that time, I felt as though God had given me a picture of what was going on in the world as it related to people caught in sexual addiction. I did not know just how pervasive it was on an individual level until later but the vision is as follows.
I saw a picture of a throne room. Not like the one pictured in scripture where there were three thrones for the Godhead and 24 thrones for the elders but a room full of thrones. Simple enough. Some were inhabited by people who had a crown on their head, a sword in their hand and they were looking straight forward as if to show they were firmly seated in their place or places of authority. I couldn't not sway their eyes away from looking straight ahead - kind of like when you try to make the British guards laugh or look away, but I knew they knew I was present.
I also noticed that there were many more thrones uninhabited and next to each throne was a sword leaning against an arm and hanging from one of the spires of the throne was a crown. God showed me that these thrones were once inhabited by men and women of God but they had since traded in their spiritual authority for sexual arousal leading to sexual addiction. It was then and there I knew that I had to call back these people to their places of authority - over their own body, I Corinthians 9:27, over their family Ephesians 5:25,33, and over their community, the Devil and the world, Luke 10:19. They were to be called back and if they accepted their responsibility as a disciple of Christ to once again be clothed in their rightful royal authority, I was to take a sword and knight them.
