There is a new cry going out across the land that is asking can I really be set free from my addiction to sex and pornography? The answer is YES YOU CAN BE! Galatians 5:1 says that "It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us FREE. Stand firm then and no longer allow yourselves to be burdened under a yoke of slavery." If there WAS slavery and you are no longer under it, then you must be free. Although this passage is detailing a discussion about the Mosaic law that had been Israel's guiding moral and spiritual compass for so long, the principle is still there. There is freedom and there is slavery. Addiction is slavery. Christ's blood brings freedom. He whom the Son sets free is FREE INDEED.
Many platforms of addiction accountability only help manage addiction, placing much of the emphasis on performance and emotions can spiral when the goals are not met. It actually can create more shame and isolation. Grace-Based Recovery groups will help answer that cry because it helps the addict to deprogram from all the demands for perfection and allows them to enter into what Christ has already done and who Christ says they are. Re-establishing identity and reviving purpose and destiny along with helping the addict understand that their value is not based upon their performance but it is based upon who they are in relation to God the Father, can allow the addict to rise above the oppression and live completely free.
If you are a child of God (John 1:12, Galatians 4: 7) then you are an heir to the kingdom and it is God's good pleasure to give them the Kingdom! (Luke 12:32) In the Cross they are already free and healed. Then and today simply need to be reconciled. Christ didn't come to die a heinous death just so we could manage our addictions. He came to obliterate the curse that caused them in the first place.
In the Grace-Based Groups Seminar, you will learn:

How to deal with betrayed spouses and their trauma
What you will learn at this seminar is meant to help take the stigma out of dealing with these deep sexual issues. It is not meant as a replacement for intensives or regular counseling or therapy. It is not meant to certify you by accreditation to work in the deeper areas of psychological/emotional/behavioral need. It IS meant to better equip you to journey alongside the broken individual, encourage them, hold them accountable and essentially join in the effort with Jesus as HE brings the healing (one plants, one waters, but it is God who gives the increase). As a spiritual leader, you will be a major part of the support network the individual needs to feel embraced and surrounded by great care and concern. The issues discussed in the seminar are to help you gain greater insight into what creates and perpetuates addiction so that you are not completely in the dark when you are approached with this need.
